COACHING DAY BC-NOV 22-GM PLACE
November 01st, 2009Registration for Coaching Day in BC is now up! This year’s free event is to take place on November 22, 2009 at General Motors Place. Last year’s event saw over 200 coaches from around BC participate in excellent seminars and practice drills put on by NHL and amateur coaches. Sponsored by Tim Horton’s, Coaching Day in BC provides minor hockey coaches with an incomparable educational experience.
This year’s schedule includes; welcoming and opening remarks, on-ice and off-ice instruction, goaltending techniques, watching an interactive Vancouver Canucks and Chicago Blackhawks practice and closing remarks. Vancouver Canucks head coach, Alain Vigneault, associate coach Rick Bowness and assistant coaches Ryan Walter and Darryl Williams will be leading the Canucks game day skate.
This is a great opportunity for all BC minor hockey coaches to fully maximize their coaching potential. This one day FREE event is open to coaches of all levels and all ages.

PCAHA Needs Bantam Rep League Manger

League Managers are the people responsible for day-to-day operation of the PCAHA’s Minor Hockey leagues under the direction of the Managing Directors. Their duties are as follows:
Duties:1.) Act as a communications and resource person for the Coaches and Managers of the teams in their league.
2.) Maintain league standings
3.) Maintain team and individual penalty records.
4.) Issue exhibition game numbers.
5.) Issue tournament permission numbers.
6.) Supervise playoffs
7.) Report to the Managing Director on all matters of concern.
In general, this position requires people skills, responsibility, and attention to detail. An extensive background in hockey organization is not a prerequisite and suitable training will be provided.
